M2 - Surviving

"Outstanding!"

submission: M2 - Surviving

This is a work of art. The only substantial problem I see at the moment is that your score is too low. I'll see what I can do about that...

The only constructive advice I can give you is stylistic and entirely subjective: I felt that the Linkin Park song was too "weak" for the first battle scene. It just didn't seem to fit the atmosphere. Secondly, you seem to excel in the difficult craft of open-area battle, so I must admit that the subway portion seemed a bit too restrained to take proper advantage of your strengths. Of course, these opinions reflect nothing more than my own personal tastes and bear absolutely no weight on your score. Feel free to disregard them.

WOW.... thanks for this note

I don't will speak nothing about the Link Park music... My friend say me the same thing... but my choreography already it was adjusted to time of music... so any music fit too in this animation... so I leave to see what would happen....

About the subway, was intentional, I think show to all.. is no escape... fight until death.

So thanks, thanks, thanks, thank you very much... And your sequel ? any date?

I gotta admit, I didn't think that this would be much given the crappy standards of other dress-up "games".

I was wrong.

10/5 (and another 5 every day for quite some time.)

"I never knew that I could inspire such coolness!"

Awesome job, man!

Your choreography was superb! You'll be a force to be reckoned with once you get your Flash techniques streamlined. There were a few subtle styling issues that you could improve with time, but none that I feel should negatively impact your score.

I gotta say, though, I think that green "flashbang" effect that Cage used is cool as hell!

EX-Ken vs. Akuma

"Very well done"

submission: EX-Ken vs. Akuma
date: September 2, 2008

The fight was very well done, but there were a few things which, in my humble opinion, could have been done better.

First of all, the hitsparks seemed a little plain and awkward. Secondly, you spent WAY too much time milking your "charging" and "slow-mo" sequences. Thirdly, the fighters, at certain points, seemed to just stand there and wait for the other to attack.

Those are just my nitpicky observations, though.

Very well done.

How Keep it up ?

I think many peoples don't like my animation, maybe the start because it's monotonous... Maybe not interesting a fight between womans, I don't know, but I will keep animating...

Thanks to the comment, I still far away from proxicide too. But one day I expect touch he.... hahahahahaha

Ryu vs Dudley

"Good job."

submission: Ryu vs Dudley

The choreography was nice as were your hitsparks. The only downside I noticed was the each fighter's tendency to simply stand there while the other delivered their slower, more powerful attacks.

All in all, a damn fine movie.

"Good show."

Your close-proximity choreography was very enjoyable. I found it to be a very good film, but there are a few improvements that you could make.

First of all, 24 fps might have been just a LITTLE bit too fast. While action should be fast enough to keep the mind interested, it shouldn't be such to the extent that it is a chore to keep up. It's not choppiness, it's just animating a hair too fast.

Secondly, you need hitsparks. Lots of hitsparks.

Thirdly, you might want to capture some genuine Akuma vocalizations instead of speeding down Ryu's.

Lastly, your close-proximity exchanges were very exciting and well-done. In fact, it was good to the point that the DBZ-esque stuff was an intrusion that only served to slow the action down.

Overall, this was a great flash with a whole lot of interesting sequences. I look forward to your next one.

OH YEAH WITH HIT SPARK I DECIDED NOT TO PUT HIT SPARK SINCE IT COVERS THE ACTION...PLUS IF I SLOW IT DOWN ITS KINDA DRAGGING...IT BORES ME...HAHAHA

Ryu Vs Ken (For a Collab)

"Not bad."

date: June 21, 2008

The trick to good choreography is creativity. Although your animation is decent, you rely too heavily on cliched sequences. (I.E. redundant mid-battle transformations and that giant energy blast tug-o-war that everybody and their mother does.)

Not everything has to look like Dragonball.

Also, I must commend you on those powered-up Ryu sprites you've got there. They look awesome and I'd like to know where you got them. HOWEVER, from what I could tell from the flash, it looks as though that Ryu sprite set wasn't complete. I noticed a conscious effort on your part to avoid complex sequences with them.

You might also consider increasing the frame rate slightly. I normally don't think that simple frame rate increases can make flashes better as a rule, but there at least must be a minimum that will be dictated by the sprites you use. (I.E. MK animates well at 18-20 FPS. SF3 may require more.)

Lastly, I'll reinterate what everybody else is saying. You need sfx. Claiming that their absence is due to "artistic" reasons is noting but a cover-up for either laziness or impatience. Ryu and Ken aren't up there doing interpretive dance at the State Theatre, they're engaged in battle. Take the time to sound it.

Just my two cents.
