R1665

It is DONE.

Posted by R1665 Aug. 3, 2009 @ 1:35 PM EDT

After roughly seven months of work, I am proud to announce that VG Exiles Episode 2 is finally complete! This 16.5 MB behemoth is over seventeen minutes long from "Play" to "Replay" and is the most ambitious project I have ever undertaken.

It could be described as a "season finale". It will signal the end of the current story arc. The question is, how will it end? When the dust settles, will Jon Talbain have avenged Sonya, or will Gambit have killed another Exile and escaped forever into the wilds of the Multiverse? Hopefully, you won't have to wait long to find out.

I have sent a PM to Tom Fulp regarding the file size. When, and if, I receive the "all-clear" from him, I will upload this monster around noon the following day (Eastern Standard Time).

It's time to unleash this beast!

---------------------

In accordance with my "Front Page Post Policy" I offer you yet another screenshot. Since you got to see Gambit getting a hit in on the last one, it's only fair to show the other side.

So, enjoy this image of Jon Talbain getting his shred on!

ok what are you saying this will be the last episode of the series and the story? or this just the end of what is called a season meaning next year or couple months later you will continues the story of where it left off. I know we all been a pain i nthe ass but don't stop doing what your doing.

Aug. 3, 2009 | 1:47 PM R1665 responds:

Oh, I have several more episodes planned for the VG Exiles.

This will just be the end of the current storyline centered around the destruction of the team and Jon's quest for revenge.

Good to hear that. I will be waiting. Can't wait to see all the hard work that was put into it. Considering how good your first two were, this one is going to kick the ass off an elephant. Well, good luck with Tom. I'm sure he'll respond. After all, you have gotten front page with your previous animation, so I think he'll be willing to help

But Johnny Cage wears sunglasses... how are sunglasses WHITE and VISIBLE in the dark room?

Dude, your stuff is so ..deep. Just as Gambit is about to _______, are all the dead people you see the exiles he killed? that's pretty neat. >_>

Aug. 5, 2009 | 12:42 AM R1665 responds:

All of the slain Exiles were shown, even though Gambit was only directly responsible for the murder of Sonya. In his mind, all of the Exiles were his "victims", hence their appearance. It also showed some of his other real victims - Remy from Ep. 1 (who I now positively confirm is dead), and both Gambit and Rogue from Earth 9242-355.

Aug. 4, 2009 | 10:42 PM SS4FlameAlchemist says:

I must have been high or something when I wrote my review. It definitely was the best sprite movie I have ever seen. Still, it had something missing, and I'm still trying to figure that one out. Nevertheless, it was one kickass battle.

Aug. 5, 2009 | 1:10 AM R1665 responds:

Every movie has something missing and nothing can be expected to appeal to ALL audiences. That said, one can only do their best and hope others like the result.

THAT WAS AN AWESOME BATTLE! THE VIOLENCE- THE BLOOD!!

I saw who it was in the credits, but I forget now, but whoever did Gambit's voice did a pretty darn good job. Gambit has a hard voice to master...

The only bad thing was that you didn't show what Johnny Cage did in the room. Still very brutal, on the other hand. LOL, I couldn't really imagine him doing it with his bare hands, IT LOOKED LIKE A FREAKIN BOMB WENT OFF THERE!

The one thing that I hate you for in this episode is that YOU DIDN'T SHOW WHO WILL BE FIGHTING NEXT!!!!!!!! Like at least give us SOMETHING to think about for your next episode!

And that's the way the cookie crumbles

Aug. 6, 2009 | 2:28 AM R1665 responds:

I will say that Darkwolf blew me away with his auditions for the roles. I had sought separate auditions for Gambit and Talbain on the Voice Acting Club (Rina-chan's forum) and Darkwolf nailed them both!

Aug. 6, 2009 | 2:25 AM R1665 responds:

Hey, I appreciate the help, my friend!

Just so you know, I'm more inclined to precast roles to dependable people than seek auditions!

You can expect to hear from me again!

I looed at your video again and again then I looked at Proxicide video again and again. then I said something there is no comparison to both of them because there in a league of there own. The only thing Proxicide has over everybody is visuals just how the graphics look in everything but in combat you guys are neck in neck you have a better back story and use more characters. but one thing you and trix will have over him is that you will make more movies with him with better stories and no doubt you guys will be legends on newgrounds one day.

Aug. 7, 2009 | 3:16 AM R1665 responds:

As I had said on an earlier post, it it my hope that comparisons between Proxicide and myself would soon be as moot as comparing apples to oranges.

We now have distinctly different styles.

Hi man, awsome movies, i watched episode 0 to its currently finish in episode 2, and i have never enjoyed a sprite movie as much as this one. Simply amazing job on this, ive seen an awufl lot of sprite artists come and go on newgrounds, and it pleases me when someone comes along with something new and fresh on the scene.

I am a big marvel fan, and i love all of capcoms characters as well. I look forward to the next installment of the series.

Well done man, best on newgrounds in my opinon.

Aug. 8, 2009 | 1:44 PM Mini-Dude says:

It looks like you beat Suroy in a race and perhaps quality, too, but we don't know that yet....

Aug. 8, 2009 | 2:36 PM R1665 responds:

I've not "beaten" Suroy on anything.

Release time doesn't matter. Any number of things can have an effect on that. What matters is the animation quality. Suroy is one of the greatest sprite animators out there. To assume that he could not produce an animation better than mine would be a big mistake.

The man has skills!

R1665

Aug. 9, 2009 | 4:04 AM Trixiaoyu says:

R1665. I think I have noticed a flaw in your latest animation.

Ok so Jonny Cage disguised himself as Agent Scott Drake and massacred Gambit. The problem here is: To massacre someone that brutally wouldn't it have made a lot of loud noise? Come on, it wasn't a stealth kill via poison or a quick slit in the throat.

Like Calamity Kid said, it looks like a bomb went off in there. It might have not been a bomb but in order for someone to do that much damage surely there would have been loud noise in there; preferably Gambit screaming.

And if so... how comes Guile and Nash didn't hear it when they were standing right outside the door?

That room didn't look like a sound proof room.

Aug. 9, 2009 | 1:43 PM R1665 responds:

It was soundproofed and secure. Besides, Gambit didn't have too much time or capacity to scream with Johnny pounding on his face before eviscerating him.

Let this be a lesson to everyone - If you threaten the stability of the Multiverse, the Exiles will put you down hard.

i forgot to comment this on the videos actual comment page,

BUT I FUCKING LOVED THE RYU HEAD BOMB!!!!!!

it was something that was never really seen before, and i fucking loved it!

now i really have to ask:

will you be taking a long break from this? or are you already working on the premise of the 4th EP? (i hope its the 2nd awnser)

Aug. 9, 2009 | 10:27 PM R1665 responds:

I will not be taking any long breaks. I have a couple of small projects that I have to do before starting Ep. 3, but that shouldn't take me very long. I am notorious for my inability to focus on more than one thing at at time.

Oh, and I have my matches and storylines planned out already for the next three episodes. The question is whether or not I can actually get them done.
