Looking forward to the next episode.

Care to let us in on a few characters that will be making appearances in future episodes?

Sorry, no can do.

Pretty much the rest of this series will consist of surprise match-ups. You never know who will show up in the multiverse!

R1665

looking nice and spiffy there sir.
this will be another evolution of sprite flash!

So, you said you had ways you preventing yourself from animation burnout? Mind giving me some advice on that? I am having trouble... But, anyway, hope you animation comes soon. Everything so far has been awesome, and considering how you've improved since episode 0, I think it's safe to say that episode 3 is going to set the limit of sprite movies to a point no earthly animator will be able to match. I'm surprised people haven't started making fan series like SMBZ or Sonic's quest for power.

"So, you said you had ways you preventing yourself from animation burnout? Mind giving me some advice on that? I am having trouble..."

Those methods of prevention are mostly ingrained into my own personality and may prove less useful for other people.

I have a personal agenda. I want to break the stranglehold that certain characters have over the sprite fighting genre. It is that desire that (usually) keeps me away from overused and creativity-draining characters like Ryu and Akuma. Because I prefer characters that have little or no precedence in flash animation, I am forced to keep my choreography innovative.

The more often a character appears in flash, the more likely I am to change some fundamental aspect of them if I decide to use them. (Like Sonya.) I have no interest in doing what has already been done.

It certainly doesn't hurt that the Exiles story premise is infinitely flexible. I can take any character I want and do absolutely anything I want with them. I am not restricted by canon in any way. I can give Sonya ice powers. I can make Gambit a serial killer. I can turn unpopular B-list characters into world-class fighters and vice-versa. I LOVE that.

A series with complete freedom coupled with a desire to avoid the popular in favor of the unseen equals the perfect formula for keeping me away from burnout.

Don't go getting ahead of yourself there. I am an earthly animator. I've only been doing this for a couple of years. I have no formal education in flash. I spent two weeks going through a Flash 8 textbook on my own before doing Ep. 0.

If I can do this, anyone can.

flash 8 has a book!!!!....wait did you buy flash 8 or buy flash 8 off the internet and downloaded because that book could help me out

There are many books that can help the beginning flash artist get a foothold, but I prefer THIS one:

http://www.amazon.com/Macromedia-
Flash-Professional-Hands-Training /dp/0321293886

This is the exact book I used.

It will get you familiar with the interface no matter how you got your copy of Flash 8. Granted, there are many techniques for sprite animation that you will have to figure out on your own, but books like this are the best chance that beginning animators have for getting it right the first time.

I don't trust free online tutorials for beginners. They're not comprehensive.

DUDE!!!!! SO LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR LATEST INSTALLMENT AND I APPRECIATE THE DEDICATION YOU PRESENT TO YOUR CRAFT.

what about the few of us who like to root for the bad guys. :-( you do a good job of making the bad guy look cooler than the hero, then poof dead form nowhere

As the series progresses, the line between "good" and "evil" will start to blur. None of the Exiles are saints, and you just might see some very shady characters appear with Cage at the helm...

R1665

I was wondering, since there's no bullshit or anything...

Will we be seeing a real fatality being performed this time?? Johnny Cages was great and all in the episode 0, but there was no actual severing or tearing of limbs... In episode 1 there was no death involved. And in our latest episode, episode 2, we saw what REMAINED of the fatality, which was still pretty damn brutal. But this time, what say we get some REAL hands on violence? >:)

Hey, I wrote a story you might just enjoy, R1665. If you have the time, check out www.ClanMILO.piczo.com and go to the link that says Tragedy. The site has no decorations or anything like that, but it's the story that counts XD

Leave me a comment, tell me what you think.

P.S. Clan MILO is my MW2 clan tag, and Milo is my cat's name LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Yes, there will be a Fatality performed this time. One of my two chosen warriors will not be leaving the field of battle alive!

Oh, and the first third of that story sounds much like my average game on the Free Mode of GTAIV. Lots of mayhem.

R1665

LOL, Sounds like mine too.

Glad you liked it, and I'm VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THERE WILL BE BLOOD!!!
