Well, shame to see the cancellation of VG Exiles, really wanted to see more of it.
I saw the original post. Glad to hear that CE-Rap is doing okay. As long as he's able to support himself he should probably take his time first. Oh and your new series is most probably gonna kick ass. Most especially Smoothuser's ass.

However, after hearing about the cancellation of the VGE, I had begun construction of a rather large guillotine, and training a secret cult of mystic assassins to abduct you for the express purpose of using said rather large guillotine. Things were going great; the guillotine was nearing completion, and the ritual used to infuse my followers with all sorts of eldritch power was a resounding success*
*(Some idiot broke the summoning circle, and at least 16 people were gruesomely murdered, and subsequently devoured by a rather hungry demon. Don't worry, that cowardly bastard had his soul ripped out, and placed in the body of a newt. And contrary to popular belief, he will not "get better")
But after reading this post? I look back at all the preparation, and I think "That's a bit unreasonable. After all, he's promising something better in exchange, and he hasn't let me down so far", effectively killing my righteous fury.

I hope you know that I had to break into a secret government facility to find the ancient tome so I could summon that demon. Also, managing a cult is not only a major pain in the ass, but expensive.

Last time I tried to summon a demon, It was three feet tall and did nothing but sing country music songs. I didn't kill anybody, but I quickly learned that it wasn't housebroken.

Is that still on? So much time has been wasted dealing with Smooth when the project could be in the making. I hope the rest of the team players still have the motivation to come through with it.

CE Rap, I am glad your getting back on your feet, and I think the Newground community can finally welcome home a long lost friend with open arms.
I respect both you as artists, and both of you deserve praise of your high commitment and integrity for your art. Your the best at what you do, and you deserve that title.
Unfortunately, this news deals a fatal blow to my heart. I have been one of the ones waiting months with baited breath, all for not. While your reasons are plausible, I cannot truly become excited or hopeful for this project. I see very long delays in episodes, and the critical part of what using pre-existing characters gave is lost and will have to be made up. As much as I want to troll you guys, and be that kind who vents his fury and anger, I can understand the desire to advance. But this is where I as a fan part ways with you. I do not foresee anything you can do that will lure me back to this new project, because even though the skills are sharp and I expect high quality, the feeling of nostalgia and story are ripped from the basis. Who are these people? Why do I care? Why is this battle so intense? Why is this episode worth me waiting months in the production line? What is truly memorable about this flash movie? Why is it different and worth my time?
I am sorry. Although I send you off with my blessings, I leave with you the torn fandom I once held for you. I do not foresee you pulling anything out of your bag of tricks to win me back, but who knows. I will say it may be possible to hit a home run and me eat my words, but its far fetched. I will say this, in doing this move you should realize that your show is under that much more pressure to perform. If you want something original, you need to devote 200% to create the entire world around it, and plan for the story. Just two OC sprites going at it is boring, and stick men fighting covers that genre. So if your doing this, know you have to come out with more than just meeting a challenge you have for yourself.
Anyway, again I am glad to hear CE-Rap is safe and back to somewhat normal, and wish you luck in your endeavor. We shall probably not meet again, though maybe the stars have a different fate for us. I expect 100% from this new project, and if it lacks, the community will let you know. This fan, however, is walking away with a sense of disappointment.
I don't blame you for feeling that way. We've all been disappointed at some time or another by the cancellation of something we enjoyed. If anything, it's the norm and not the exception.
Initially, I had reservations about taking this course. Rap would definitely confirm this with a grin. Over time, however, I came to realize that this is what must be done to reach our full potential. As displeased and disappointed as you are, know that I was, at one point, ten times so. This was not just some random series that I enjoyed watching on the internet. It was a series that I had created. It was my contribution to the world. It was what I did.
If someone as invested as me could see the possibilities of this new path, then I would hope that those displeased fans will be able to see it too once the results start hitting the portal. In the meantime, all I can really say is "Hope to see you again".

I've seen certain sprite artists on deviantART and then there are the Shades of Manhattan guys. I dunno who it is but knowing you, you will pick one of the best.

I am a bit disappointed that Exiles is cancelled. I eagerly awaited each episode. I at first I checked every week to find out what was next, but after the delays of episode 3 and the delays after I stopped checking in hoping if I forget maybe the wait won't be so bad. I understand you couldn't help the delays and that's cool, things happen. I will miss this series. This sprite series is the only one I have ever followed. I was really stoked for idea of a Jill Valentine fight or more Talbain and Stryker fights or even all of them against one really dangerous enemy would have been awesome. I'll tell you one thing you have used pretty all my favorite fighters. I loved that you used all the fighters that usually don't get a moment to shine like the shotos and ninjas usually do. Well whatever you do, I bet it's going to be awesome and I am most likely will be there to see it

I see where you guys are coming from. I had to cancel production on countless Flash and Music projects due to being under-skilled, inept planning (I'm more of an improv guy), or not going in the desired direction.
I hope what's new coming is going to be awesome, cause some people are going to go raving after hearing this. I will miss Exiles, and lord knows that I would love a official VG Exiles by video game companies, but alas, that dream is slim. Although that just screams flash game somewhere. Any case, I'm glad that Rap is alright and that you are not just being lazy or something and have something in mind. I have to ask though, I know you said the series was axed, but is there a actual slim chance of a reboot, or is it permanently buried?
The plan of going in a new series direction came after the idea for the reboot. I'm afraid the reboot idea has been axed, as well.
Besides, reboots in general have a horrible track record for success.
