VG EXILES Episode 2.

I'm so close to finishing this beast, I can taste it. Over the last week or so, I have done all of the menu stuff as well as finished the sounding on the fight. I tried out a new sound technique tonight that I thought up months ago, but couldn't implement until the main sounding was over. I'm proud to say that it shaved nearly a megabyte off the project with NO REDUCTION IN QUALITY! It is one of several techniques that I used to optimize file size.

It still won't be under 10 MB, but at least now I know I've done everything I can to optimize it without sacrificing quality.

I hope to get the artwork this weekend as well as some of the voicing. I've still got one voice actor to get lines from and I will be doing some live recording this weekend. Also, in case you were wondering, I will be lending my voice to one of the supporting roles. That's right, you'll get to hear what R1665 sounds like!

This will be my last news post until I have completed the project. It's been a long seven months since I released my last flash, and I'm just about ready to show everybody what I've been doing in the meantime.

W00000T!!! final stretch!! i hope the flash will be even better than EP.1

EP. 2 makes EP. 1 look like a pleasant Sunday afternoon drive.

Trust me.

R1665

Are you russian?

That depends. Is your refrigerator running?

R1665

LOOOOOOOOOL!!!!

Russian?!!? ROFL ROFL!!

Well I am waiting for this next BEAST!!

great job finish up strong just like trix do your best make it long. And if you are russian I know world wide everybody is missing michael jackson. so good luck R1665.

RIP michael jackson I just had to slip that in there

I have to say, im pretty happy MJ is finally dead. Just my opinion, he was a freak and a nut.

But back to your flash movie. *ahem* so anyways,

OMG OMG OMG OMG ITS ALMOST DONE ITS ALMOST DONE ITS ALMOST DONE!!!!

btw, is the loading screen gonna be more hi-tech this time, or will it still be the boring blue bar??

Boring blue bar.

Loading screens have to be low-tech so that the first frame loads quickly. A frame won't show until all of the visual elements have been loaded. That means that people with slower connections get to watch a white screen if you have too much crap in your preloader. They assume the flash is malfunctioning and close the window.

R1665

R1665 is 100% correct. You see, it's why people like us KNOW flash! Even Proxicide never used hi-tech preloaders. They were just really colorful! Come on Mini-Dude where is your flash intelligence?

In all fairness, it's not really common knowledge.

R1665

Hm, I dont make flash.

1. I dont have the money for the prgram

2. I tried the demo and didnt understand ANYTHING

:( I wish I could animate but I cant, so I stick to being an audience

same here I wish somebody who does the same flash as you guys would

1.show where to get the free flashes
2.where to download the sprits(don't worry trix you gave me some information)
3.Give a brief video explain how to make your flash do this and that and how to set everything up.

I'm nowhere blaming you guys at all but if they had a video like that and with easy programs making flashes mind be easier or many more people will make them. I just need a better program that I can keep.

The question of "how I do this" cannot be answered by a brief video.

The book I used to learn flash costs $40.00 and it took me two weeks to go through it. That was just for the basics. It took me a year of first-hand experience to learn new tricks and reach the point I am now.

That cannot be translated into brief videos.

The fact is, there is no quick and easy shortcut to properly learning Flash. There's too much stuff to fit into even a long series of brief videos.

R1665

i find it ironic
that you are releasing your flash
kinda close to ETNA coming out with new songs

Oh, shit!

R1665

Hey R1665, I was just wondering out of nowhere, what song will be playing during the fight?

Just a thought for a choice of song for your next one, Psychosocial by Slipknot

Try it out, see if you like it.

:)

You'll just have to wait and see...

R1665

here comes that famous question again. When will it be ready?lol

Yeah, do you have a release date yet? or a general time period? or something? throw me a bone.

Okay, I am generously padding my estimates and shooting for a July 11th release assuming that I clear all roadblocks.

R1665

july the 11th it is so the next time I will check in or here something from me will be around that time. now I been saying take your time on it because I really did'nt know how far you were into your project but since you said it's almost finish is the reason why I ask these questions.

new post, check it out :)

cool stoty, bro

Absolutely sweet. I can't wait. The best thing is the story with all of this. It's not just another fighting animation.

Maybe I should pick up that book. Everything I've learned from Flash, aside from the VCam, I've taught myself. There's somethings to say about "self learning", but there are things you need to have learned from a teaching source.

Even the preloader for my next animation project outside of the Game Ranger series is just an edit of the Newgrounds preloader. The opening cinematic, however, is all things I'm doing myself and have learned, so that's all good. It'll show that the GR series is done a specific way on purpose.
