Oh mightly R1665 guide my terrible Google skills. Where do you find your backgrounds for your sprite fights, I can't find crap on the mugen pages and thats the only thing holding me up now?
I custom-build my backgrounds using mugen sprites, textures from video games, Googled photos, and anything else useful I can get my hands on.
In other words, they are one-of-a-kind.
There are mugen stages available in abundance, but the best ones are from Mortal Kombat. Unlike Street Fighter, SNK, and virtually every other fighting game franchise, MK stages are amazingly modular. A little Photoshop can go a long way.

You are awesome, and an amazing sprite animator to boot. I look forward to your work all the time, and throughly enjoy it every time. I hope you continue with this for some time because you have a real talent for it.
That said, I got a confession.
As far as I can tell from your updates (which are very appreciated. Most popular posters don't do anything like what you do in the way of updates) your work is being hung up on account of lack of artwork from the people who did the bulk of the cutscenes from your latest work. I noticed you said that they've been busy, or unable to send it your way for whatever reasons, and while I understand that, I must admit that it certainly does not benefit you to to be reliant on them when trying to complete work. Not only that, but the amount of time you have to wait for this artwork does not seem like a healthy trade off for the QUALITY of the artwork. Unless it has GREATLY improved from the last episode, I'm afraid that the artwork is fairly lackluster at best. In my opinion, you'd be better off either looking for another illustrator, or finding some way to convey the story yourself.
Again, you're awesome, and I anxiously await your next work (the FAILtalities should be fucking awesome) I just have that concern that your work is suffering as a result of the above wrinkle.

2) I kinda agree with notorious. I don't know if you know your artist personally or whatever but there are many animators on this site that would be happy to give you a completely moving animated cutscenes in half the time.

I just wanted to ask of the released MK9 characters whos design and story seems pretty good?
I haven't seen much in the way of individual character stories. I would assume that they are the same as they were for MK1-MK3. As I have stated before, Jax's redesign looks really good. I would like to get a closer look at Sonya, too.

1) I should have no problem getting it done by then.
2) March 1st falls on a Tuesday. Weekly awards are given out on Tuesdays.
3) I can make my next monthly news post coincide with the release.

FAILtality. I have an idea that either of them could do, but not both. I'll admit that I'm leaning toward Baraka at the moment. The rest of the female ninjas are well-represented.

Baraka, he's my favorite mk character besides the ninjas.
Deffinately Baraka.
Jade's cool and all but she's still a female ninja clone. Baraka on the other hand is very unique as a character.

Skater take it easy on R1665. Sprite animation is tough and takes time, I'm sure even Skater007 knows this. TUPT-3 will take even longer than VG:Exiles-3 to get released. :-p
